Tajikistan and India Foreign Office Consultations
On December 19, 2018, Foreign Office Consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India took place in New Delhi.
Delegations of the parties were headed by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Nizomiddin Zohidi and Secretary West of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India Mr. Gitesh Sharma. Having considered the current state of bilateral relations, the two sides expressed their satisfaction with level and content of collaboration.
During the meeting, prospects for cooperation in the spheres of politics, economy, trade, investment, science, education and culture have been discussed. The parties stated their commitment to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
Within the framework of consultations, the sides exchanged views on topical issues of the regional and international agenda. In this regard, the two sides, underlining the similarity of the positions of Tajikistan and India regarding the struggle with modern challenges and threats to peace and security, stressed the necessity of further strengthen cooperation between the two countries within the framework of regional and international organizations on issues of mutual interest.
